Ever bought a pair of shoes that you’ve purchased simply because they were on sale knowing that you don’t quite have anything to wear them with? Well, yeah. I’ve purchased these shoes because they were on sale for $70 bucks from $90 (apparently they are some kind of “classic”. Don’t ask me, I’m no sneaker head) so I couldn’t pass them up, and at the time I wanted to inject some color into my every-so-gloomy wardrobe. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out so well, so they’ve been sitting up in my closet relaxing in it’s little shoe box. Yeah I know, why not take them back? Trust me I would’ve but the huge sign reading “ALL SALES FINAL” made it pretty clear that I’m shit out of luck. So, I guess they’ll just continue to sit in my closet until I can conjure up something funky or until someone takes them out of my hands. Any takers? lol
Today I was feeling like giving my orange pants some wear. I’ve had them for a while (8 months to be exact) and haven’t worn them until today. It just so happened to be a bit chilly that day so pairing them with my chambray top seemed to be a perfect match. I was going to wear my boots from forever 21, but I knew that I would be doing a lot of walking spending the day downtown, so I decided to pair them with my Vlado kicks. Accessories, Rocksmith trucker hat and watch from Southlane.
Having signature kicks are pretty much a necessity for any fashion forward male of today. Whether you prefer a red bottom or a simple colorway of black or white, there are many designers whipping up some really dope kicks for fashion lovers like myself to lust after, at least until we’ve finally have saved up enough money to get them ourselves. One shoe I’ve added to my wishlist is the new Giuseppe Zanotti snakeskin high-top sneaker. The design pairs a premium snakeskin upper with a vulcanized rubber outsole, white rubber foxing and black leather applications to the heel and tongue. My favorite detail has to be the heavy-duty-zipper at the heel and both the medial and lateral sides of the upper along the eyestay, the Giuseppe Zanotti “Snakeskin” Hi Sneaker is now available in-store and online from New York’s Kith for $650 USD.
3.1 Phillip Lim just released ‘Trickers’ by Jacob Sutton featuring Phillip’s spring/summer 2013 menswear collection.
First I just want to say Happy New Year to all. Hopefully this year will be better than last and you accomplish all the things you set out to. 2012 for me was a little bit up and down. I’ve accomplished so much within the year, as well as fail just as much. The only problem is that I spent too much time being hard on myself about my failures that I didn’t make time for me to enjoy the many successes. During that year I also stayed to very much to myself and away from friends and social media than normal. So focused on making things “Perfect”, both my appearance and my life, only to realize that perfection is no-existent and my obsession with it only left me less happier than I already was. Going into the New Year there are many things I will accomplish and many habits I will change. My obsession with being perfect is one of them. Among some others, in 2013 I will . . . .
My love for Diesel is no secret as their designs I feel are designed with me in mind (or at least I like to imagine). I’ve had my eye on this Black Buffalo Leather bag ($375.00) for a while now and will be adding this to my wishlist of items to purchase in the coming year. Although it’s no messenger, it’s very similar and can be used for pretty much the same if not more.
Loving EVERYTHING about Kenzo‘s S/S 13 campaign video. Truly a brand that never disappoints!
For me, Givenchy always have a lot of hits with a few misses, and for their Pre-Fall 2013 collection, this one is no different. Although I’ve been a fan of Riccardo’s design aesthetic, I love to seen growth and evolution from the designers I love. I know, there’s not much you can do with men’s fashion, but when the details of the designs are repetitive to previous seasons, it can be a bit annoying. Especially when you were expecting something more.
Being just a filler collection to bridge the gaps between the main seasons, I would be highly dissapointed if Riccardo pulls the same tricks out of his bag.
All in all, the fall 2012 collection was much more exciting than the pre-fall 2013. I’ll just have to wait and see what the Fall collection will look like.
